Lynn Brewster

Lynn has been playing guitar since she was eleven and the violin since she was seven years old. Her first lessons were with an inspiring teacher from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Later, after studying with Jon Edwards in Oxford and a successful audition with Andrew Lloyd Webber's dad, she trained as a classical guitarist with George Zarb and Oliver Hunt at the London College of Music, first as a 'performer' and then on the graduate route, and studied harmony and counterpoint with Alan Bullard. Lynn began her career teaching classical guitar to 'junior exhibitioners' at the college on Saturday mornings.

After spending twelve successful years as a 'peri' in the UK and abroad teaching the guitar to pupils aged 7 to 70 in schools, colleges, further and adult education, teachers' centres and privately, she followed a teaching career in the primary sector. She has led curriculum music in schools, as well as many extra curricular music performance activites including instrumental and choral groups, guitar and string ensembles, and she ran a very successful large children's orchestra for twelve years. She enjoys arranging and writing music for children and has written three successful full length musicals.

She is currently having a guitar made for her by the well respected English maker, Michael Gee, and is looking forward to spending some 'quality time' getting to know it intimately this Autumn!

Lynn currently plays guitar with the Fenland Consort and with other local musicians in various ensembles. She also plays violin regularly with the Fenland Consort as well as in the Boston Orchestra, Boston Sinfonia and Lincolnshire Sinfonia.
