The Players’ Committee of the Boston Sinfonia had a meeting at Goodbarns Yard, Wormgate, Boston  on Saturday 19 May 2012

Present were Becky Brown, Anne Dales, Andrew Marshall (minutes’ scribe), Nigel Morley (in the chair),  Sue Shorland and Brian Stout (by invitation).

Apologies were received from Gill Walsh.

Here are the main points from the minutes.

No agenda was issued as the single item under discussion was the future of the Boston Sinfonia following Henry L’Estrange’s resignation as Chairman.

Nigel was keen to move away from Boston with concerts in Lincoln and Louth. He also suggested leaving things until 2013. However, the dates for concerts in October and November are advertised in the concert programme.

Sue said she would be prepared to act as interim coordinator to help put on these two concerts. Her offer of help was welcomed and it was agreed to go ahead with these two concerts. Ideally, other such coordinators should be trained or recruited to take over for similar short periods of time.

Haven High school is seen as a possible alternative concert venue to the Stump.

Andrew to issue fixing letters as soon as Nigel has confirmed the autumn programmes.
